Private Dance = Executive Loss

1 Feb

Executives on the same level as John played more golf than they actually worked. At least that’s the way it seemed to the non-executive employees who worked at the same company. In addition to golf, John had some other secret activities that essentially destroyed his life and livelihood.

John apparently had a hankering for visiting one of the local nude Gentlemen’s clubs. He would visit this particular club often. After a while, John became involved with one of the dancers to the point where he began giving her money that he did not have to give. John was married for 10 years and had two small children.

As an executive in John’s company, he as well as many other employees had varying levels of settlement authority to write out company drafts to pay individuals who had been harmed in some way by one of the company’s insured. Well, John must have fallen in love with one of the “ladies” at the club, because he began to write company drafts to her and signing one of the claim representative’s name. Jon wrote checks totaling thousands of dollars. It wasn’t long before John was caught with his hands in the cookie jar. Apparently the corporate office had become suspicious about some of the drafts John was giving to the dancer, and began questioning the female claim representative at her home. You see, the claim representative was actually on maternity leave due to complications she was having with her pregnancy. John had not only signed the young claim representative’s name to the drafts, he had also stolen her drafts from her locked desk drawer.

The investigators finally talked with the dancer and found out that John was the person giving her the stolen drafts. The very day that John was confronted with the discovery, he apparently admitted what he had done and was immediately fired from his high-paying executive position. I happen to know that John never served jail or prison time for what he had done, but he had lost his job, career, and family. He apparently was not employable with another company and now owns his own consulting firm.
